Heidi S. Wicker is an Associate at Schwartz & Ballen LLP. Ms. Wicker works primarily in the areas of banking law, financial institutions law and payments law, with a focus on privacy, regulatory and legislative matters. Ms. Wicker received her J.D. in May 2003, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School, where she was Editor-in-Chief of The George Washington International Law Review. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in journalism from The George Washington University in 1999. Previously, Ms. Wicker worked in public relations for corporate, trade association and governmental affairs clients and on Capitol Hill. Ms. Wicker’s published works include “Making a Run for the Border: Should the United States Stem Runaway Film and Television Production Through Tax and Other Financial Incentives?” in The George Washington International Law Review, 35 Geo. Wash. Int’l L. Rev. 461 (2003). Ms. Wicker is also the recipient of the 2002 Nathan Burkan Memorial Prize, sponsored by ASCAP, and an honorable mention in the 2002 Marcus B. Finnegan Prize Competition for her paper “Protecting Creative Content In The Digital Millennium: Balancing Intellectual Property Rights in DVDs and Rights of Consumers to Free Speech and Personal Use.” Ms. Wicker is a member of the District of Columbia and New York State Bars. |
